In 1984, the Blumberg family opened a small rug shop in Cresta Mall, Johannesburg. They had a simple belief: that a great rug doesn't just cover a floor — it completes a room, anchors a home, and lasts a lifetime.

Over 40 years later, that belief hasn't changed. What has changed is everything around it.

From One Store to a National Name

What started as a single store in Cresta has grown into South Africa's most trusted rug retailer, with showrooms in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria and Klerksdorp. The Blumberg family still runs the business — and that family approach shapes everything we do, from how we source our rugs to how we treat every customer who walks through our doors.

Our collection of over 1,000 designs is sourced from the world's great rug-making traditions — Belgium, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Iran, China and Egypt — as well as proudly South African-made pieces. Whether it's a hand-knotted Persian from the workshops of Iran, a Belgian flatweave, or a locally crafted contemporary design, every rug in our collection is chosen because it meets our standard for quality, not because it's cheap to source.

That means you'll find everything from heritage Persian and Oriental rugs with centuries of craftsmanship behind them, to modern geometric designs built for contemporary South African homes, to outdoor and performance rugs that can handle whatever a South African summer throws at them.
